A recent federal court decision boosts Public Service Loan Forgiveness
What is Public Service Loan Forgiveness?
That last prong is particularly confusing for some student loan borrowers. Most charitable and public service nonprofits are 501 organizations and should therefore qualify for PSLF. However, there are sometypes of nonprofit organizations that do important work, but aren’t specifically designated as 501’s. For those organizations, the Dept. of Education makes case-by-case determinations about whether these employers qualify for the PSLF program.With this in mind, here’s what happened.
