Police are searching for suspect Robert Card in shootings that killed at least 18 people at two locations on Oct. 25 in Lewiston, Maine. LEWISTON, Maine — A manhunt involving hundreds of police officers is ongoing after deadly shootings at a bowling alley and bar shook this city of about 38,000 people around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. At least 18 people were killed in Lewiston and 13 were injured, Gov. Janet Mills said on Thursday morning.
Seven people were killed at the Just-in-Time Recreation bowling alley and eight were shot to death at Schemengees Bar & Grille, an arcade-style restaurant four miles away where shooting began 14 minutes later, said Col. William G. Ross of the Maine State Police. Three people died at local hospitals and 10 have yet to be identified.
Investigators suspect Card may have used a legally obtained .308 rifle to commit the attacks, two people familiar with the matter said.
