Today Adobe unveiled its Photoshop Camera, an AI-powered app that will dramatically transform the way hundreds of millions of people experience, capture and share their lives through their smartphones.
Smartphones have become the camera of choice to capture important occasions and silly moments, and share them with friends and strangers in real time through messages and social media. And the more our lives revolve around these interactions, the more we want our pictures to look good. Really good. Smartphone manufacturers have started to incorporate editing tools into their cameras, to make the images look sharper or to give them an artistic touch.
Second, to democratize creativity, giving users the tools to express their personality, to capture or transform the mood of the moment through a range of creative effects, or “lenses” that you can choose from as you click the shutter’s button. These are fundamentally different and dramatically more powerful than the simple filters many apps already provide, and they will endow everyone with creative tools that used to be the exclusive province of professionals.
This dual approach has become a trademark of how Adobe deploys Sensei to transform creativity through AI: on the one hand it democratizes creativity; on the other it allows creative professionals to push the boundaries even further, as the AI takes charge of the time-consuming technical aspects of the process, allowing them to focus on the artistic creation., their annual design and creativity conference that kicks off today in Los Angeles.
