Seventh seed Andrey Rublev of Russia will play Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final of the Madrid Open.

He will face world number 35 Auger-Aliassime after 30th seed Jiri Lehecka was forced to retire midway through the first set of the second semi-final.

It is the third time in the tournament that Auger-Aliassime has advanced as a result of an injury to his opponent.He reached the last four after top seed Jannik Sinner withdrew with a hip injury before their quarter-final tie, while the 23-year-old was a set up when Jakub Mensik had to retire hurt in the last 32.
