Created by George Kay and François Uzan, the French series premiered in January 2021.
It tells the story of Assane Diop , a professional thief who is the only son of an immigrant from Senegal, who moved to France with hopes of a better life for his child. However, after being framed for the theft of an expensive diamond necklace, Assane's father hangs himself in his prison cell out of shame. He leaves behind the teenaged Assane to be an orphan, gradually gaining inspiration book about a gentleman thief named Arsène Lupin.
