Sodus Point, N.Y. (WHAM) Rhonda Colacino received a phone call Sunday night that she wasn't prepared for.
Family members identified Rodney Bundschuh as the boater who died after being thrown from a boat on Sodus Bay , Sunday, July 21, 2024. Police were searching for her brother, Rodney Bundschuh , who had been thrown from a boat on Sodus Bay around 7:45 p.m.
Colacino was on scene until 1 a.m. Monday, when the search effort ended, and returned around 7 a.m. as the search shifted to a recovery effort. “Waiting for them since daybreak to get my brother’s body out of the water," she said. "We just want to get him out of the water.”"There will never be another 'Big Rod,'" she said. "That's what they called him, 'Big Rod.' His heart was so big.""He entered the room, he was just big, a guy that everyone wanted to be around, kind of the life of the party," Arnold said. "Always upbeat, never a downer.
"He liked living life," Arnold said. "He lived a little bit faster than most people, and it's what he enjoyed. He enjoyed living and doing things he wanted to do."
