'In terms of how it's impacted my life, I've always used it to my advantage.'
"I had a load of operations and I don't really know what happened with it all, but it became very severe and the operations either weren't working or they were too severe. I can't really remember how many operations I had between a year and two years, maybe 10 plus.
"By operation 6 or 7 they were like 'No, you're not gonna get your sight back'. So for me it was all about trying to make it look as normal as possible." Ron endured extreme pain for the next decade of his life, with sunlight causing him to feel"like someone was poking me in the eye the whole time". His luck changed when he turned 19, though, as this terrible irritability randomly ceased."I could open my eye properly and look into the sun with no sunglasses," he revealed.
"In terms of how it's impacted my life, I've always used it to my advantage. I always say, 'there are so many people who are worse off than me'. It doesn't impact me as much as someone else. So you have to look at the positive side of things."
