Louis Tomlinson has revealed that he only expected One Direction to be on a break ‘for a year or two’ before getting back together.

Louis, whose new album Faith in the Future releases next month, joined One Direction during their appearance on talent show TheAs of 2022, there don’t appear to be signs that the group will reunite any time soon, but Louis, 30, admitted that he was surprised by how long they’ve spent apart.

‘When we had the conversations, we never got any real clarity on what it was,’ he continued. ‘I remember going into those meetings and saying, “I understand. It’s not what I want – but all I would ask is just put a rough time on how long a break.”‘ ‘It took me a long time to get over it because I didn’t really know what it was. I think that’s probably stopped me from going into my solo career,’ he said.
