A home looms over a Lorain neighborhood with busted windows and a porch slumped over due to decay. It is a home one neighbor says was supposed to be gone months ago but remains to cause problems.

LORAIN, Ohio -

“We did a story before, and that’s when we were told they were closing it down and tearing it down, and the city hasn’t been out here since,” said Christopher Taylor. “The city of Lorain says they want to beautify the city of Lorain and stuff like that, and they have stuff like this.”“It’s a big nuisance to the neighborhood,” said Taylor.

He adds that people continue to break into the property, which forces police to constantly come back to the neighborhood.19 News went to the Lorain City Hall and talked with the director of the Department of Building, Housing, and Planning. The director says demo delays occur when a project uses federal funding. Federal funding saves the local taxpayer but comes with more testing requirements, which in turn take more time.

He is optimistic everything will be wrapped up, and the demo process will be ready to go in the next month or so.Over 93k pounds of raw meat sent to multiple states including Ohio recalledChild found safe in Strongsville following AMBER Alert, NE Ohio school employee in custody: Police
