It was a battle against the clouds last night but Metro Vancouverites still managed some beautiful snaps.
Vancouver locals were excited to share their snaps of Thursday night's geomagnetic storm which led to high auroral activity, A.K.A. the northern lights.The lights were visible across B.C. during the cloud breaks and those lucky enough to spot them said the colours peaked around 2 a.m. though some photographers also managed to get good photos at 11 p.m. from Spanish Banks and Howe Sound.
Anyone who missed the lights will have another opportunity this weekend. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 's Space Weather Prediction Center, the minor to moderate geomagnetic storm warning continues through Saturday, March 25, peaking on Friday.
