Brendyn CreamerBIBLE HILL, N.S. — After striking out with their corporate sponsor, the Truro and Bible Hill Minor Baseball Association found funding within their community.
From then on, the kids playing baseball on the Bible Hill pitch were no longer Timbits. They had no money to go on for the season. She then took to social media to find others who might be interested, making a post on her personal Facebook page and the minor baseball page to ask for funding from businesses in the area.
“With the money, I was able to get the t-shirts made, which replaced the jerseys Tim Hortons would have supplied, and I put a few extra dollars in to have the kid’s names embroidered on the sleeves of their t-shirts, which they all really seemed to like.” Even the medals had been a product of community aid. To replace the Timbits medals kids would have received, the association got in touch with Acadia Trophies, who designed medals for the kids.
