No. 1 Oklahoma had little trouble with No. 4 Tennessee, winning 9-0 in five innings to pick up the run-rule victory. The Sooners have won back-to-back national championships and six overall.
They will play in the semifinals at noon Monday. OU will need just one win in two games to advance to the WCWS Championship Series beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7. Tiare Jennings had a home run and three RBI for the Sooners and Kinzie Hanson and Rylie Boone each drove in two runs. Jordy Bahl pitched 3 ⅔ innings for OU, allowing one hit, one walk and struck out three hitters. The lone hit she allowed was a leadoff double by Kiki Milloy in the first inning.The Seminoles are 7-7 against the Huskies. The two biggest wins in program history are included in those seven victories.The last time these programs squared off was in a 7-0 Huskies win in the 2020 St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational Feb. 14. The season was canceled a few weeks later due to COVID-19.
