LIVE: Major delays as section of M56 shut due to 'police incident' - latest updates
There is major disruption on the M56 this morning due to a police incident between junction six for Hale and junction 7 for Bowdon.
Two lanes of the motorway have been closed by emergency services, who are said to be attending the scene. National Highways have warned drivers of delays of around 25 minutes on the approach to the incident, and urging people to allow extra time for their journey.The nature of the police incident has not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police and NWAS have been approached for comment.
In a tweet, National Highways North West said: Lanes 1 and 2 are closed on the #M56 westbound between J6 and J7 following a police led incident. "Emergency services are working at the scene. There are delays of 25 minutes on the approach; please allow extra time for your journey."READ NEXT:
