Israel has killed at least 35,272 people — majority of them babies, children and women — and wounded over 79,205 in its 224-day war on Gaza, Palestinian officials say, while some 10,000+ are feared lost in the ruins of bombed homes.

At a summit in Bahrain, the 22-member grouping called for"international protection and peacekeeping forces of the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territories" until a two-state solution is implemented. But he said that the United States did not yet have a"conclusive assessment" of the summit's statement and suggested that a force could be more acceptable once a ceasefire is in place.
