Ukraine said it shot down most of the three dozen drones launched by Russia in an overnight attack mainly directed around the capital. The boats were"heading in the direction of the Crimean peninsula" annexed by Russia in 2014, according to the statement.
Russia's forces in Ukraine have organised several days of voting in four regions –– Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson –– that Moscow claims to have annexed.
