A Littleton man who wrestled and kicked a police officer before entering the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was found guilty of two felony charges Wednesday.
Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office say this photo shows Patrick Montgomery holding the mountain lion he killed on March 31. Montgomery had been released pending charges for his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol but because the hunt violated the terms of his release, he was placed on 24/7 house arrest.
By 2:45 p.m., the group of three had made their way into the building through an open emergency exit door, climbed the stairs to the third floor and were entering the Senate Gallery. “You gotta stop doing your job sometime and start being American,” Montgomery yelled at the officer, according to the news release. “You gotta quit doing your job and be an American.”Crime and Public Safety |Colorado Springs man sentenced to 2 years in prison for assaulting police at U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6
The two Utah men, Brady Knowlton, 43, of St. George and Gary Wilson, 55, of Salt Lake City, also were found guilty Wednesday.
