As it stands now the specific numbers put out by just three of the candidates tally up to 81,763 before adding in the thousands for Hsu or the tens of thousands for Erskine-Smith. Asked for clarification, including how many of their 38,700 members were new versus and how widespread they were across the province, Crombie’s campaign said they had nothing new to add and wouldn’t provide further details at this point.Article content
In his statement on the success of their campaign for far, campaign manager Milton Chan took a swipe at Crombie’s position in the Ontario Liberal leadership by comparing the Mississauga mayor’s strong support in Peel Region to federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh’s 2017 federal leadership race..“Unlike a NDP leadership contest, you are not going to win this leadership contest by having a blowout in Peel Region alone,” Chan said.
