A lightning strike killed one soldier and injured nine others Wednesday at Fort Gordon near Augusta, Georgia. Base authorities said the lightning strike occurred about 11:10 a.m, injuring the soldiers in a training area, the Associated Press reports."It is with a heavy heart Fort Gordon confirms one of the soldiers in the lighting strike this afternoon succumbed to their injuries," Anne Bowman, Fort Gordon deputy public affairs officer,Bowman said the soldier's identity will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
