Letters to the Editor, Sept. 1, 2023

Re “Who will win the Stanley Cup first, McDavid or Matthews?” : I think a better question is: Who will win the Cup first — Matthews or Nylander? The Justin Trudeau government’s plastic ban has been laughable from its inception. You’d get a take-out cold beverage in a plastic cup with plastic lid , but a useless paper straw, which now turns out to also be a landfill problem as well as a possible health hazard.

As Kenneth Green pointed out in his column , that could present a serious health problem by possible contamination and spoilage, not to mention how much food will be wasted by those two factors due to shorter shelf life in stores. What next? Take-out soup in a waxed paper bag? Everything this government has touched in its green endeavour has either inconvenienced and/or picked the pockets of Canadians while doing little or nothing for the local or global environment.
