I’ve taught at the college level in the Dallas area for more than 45 years. I’ve noticed a steady decline in the number of students who are adequately prepared for and willing to put in the effort for college work, especially in the more challenging STEM subjects, which I taught. Yes, there are excellent and well-prepared students, but not enough of them.
