To truly help residents and businesses in the province who are struggling like citizens everywhere in this country, the rebate needed to encompass more fuel sources. The fact that the extra rebate only applies to home heating oil and will only apply until after the next election illustrates that it is simply a vote-securing exercise.
These sorts of comments truly show that securing Liberal votes is their focus right now, but after the election their focus will go back to punishing Canadians who have to heat their homes in our cold climate, despite the fact that Canada only produces 1.6 per cent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions.
