Perhaps it behooves our elected officials to consider Cicero’s words to the government of his day and heed them, lest our country becomes bankrupt and falls like the mighty Roman Empire.

Yes, they experienced homelessness for 36 hours, so they saw a little bit. Unfortunately, we don’t get the complete picture of homelessness as I know from my time spent working with homeless people. A day and a half does not show the complete loss that homelessness brings — loss of community, family, friends.
