'I’m not sure [Finland and Sweden] need to be educated by someone from a geographically-isolated country whose military expenditures are roughly the size of the next seven largest military budgets around the world, combined,' writes Richard Middleton.

During its first 130 years America was in no position to wage overseas wars, but it certainly managed to fight with the British and the Spanish, besides waging ruthless genocide against Native Americans and engaging in a destructive Civil War of which the evil consequences are still only too evident.

Putin’s apparently insatiable ambition to restore imperial Russia has led long-term neutrals Sweden and Finland to reexamine what has to be done to ensure their future integrity. I’m not sure that they need to be educated by someone from a geographically-isolated country whose military expenditures are roughly the size of the next seven largest military budgets around the world, combined.
