A Bartlett letter to the editor: I found it rather amusing that the Daily Herald was dismayed by the fact that Illinois House members voted themselves a whopping 16% pay increase during a late-night lame-duck session.
I found it rather amusing that the Daily Herald was dismayed by the fact that Illinois House members voted themselves a whopping 16% pay increase during a late-night lame-duck session. Your indignation was particularly humorous and hypocritical, since you endorsed just about every Democrat who supported the money grabbing pay increase.
Your editorial board reminds me of Captain Renault's famous line in Casa Blanca when closing down the casino in Rick's Café. Captain Renault:"I'm shocked! Shocked to find that gambling is going on here." Croupier:"Your winnings sir." The Herald just doesn't seem to get it. Your editors keep endorsing Democrats, and Democrats continue to destroy the state, and your endorsements help keep them in office. And of course, like Captain Renault, you are shocked. What did you expect?
