A Mount Prospect letter to the editor: I just read the column by Debra J. Saunders regarding gender dysphoria.
I just read the column by Debra J. Saunders regarding gender dysphoria. The article pointed out that a high percentage of the kids wanting to transition are females to become male. It brought back memories of my own childhood.
I remember wanting to be a boy because I didn't feel safe being a girl. I felt very vulnerable as a female. I wonder how many of these children are struggling with the same issue. Is the anxiety they feel really a safety issue? I would encourage parents to delve into their anxiety if possible.
