'Nuclear energy is the best compromise between a stable energy source and one that produces little greenhouse gasses,' writes Michael Pravica.

One key element of America’s success has been the relatively low cost of energy , which is increasing in cost due to inflation, depleted resources, and international instability. We are also destroying our environment when using conventional hydrocarbon and carbon-based sources of energy and causing the climate to change. This will ultimately force us to seek alternative sources of energy that produce little or no greenhouse gasses.

That said, nuclear energy is the best compromise between a stable energy source and one that produces little greenhouse gasses. I too, would prefer “greener” sources of energy . but these typically do not produce continuous “on demand” power and storing the energy collected via these technologies needs to be improved.

Nuclear energy sustains many nations around the world such as France, producing over 70 percent of its electricity. By using breeder reactors, we can drastically reduce nuclear waste. Inexpensive energy is the force that drives our economy. Our nation needs energy independence and nuclear energy is the only way to continue to stably sustain our incredible growth without harming our environment and without depending on other unstable and undemocratic nations to supply it.

Letter: Sen. McKay and all Republicans who support forced birth have lost your soulsLetter: Sen. McKay and all Republicans who support forced birth have lost your soulsDear Sen. McKay: Thank you for sponsoring Utah’s trigger law which in just a few short months will ensure that the sanctity of life is protected in the land of Zion. This life is of course potential life which the women of Utah will be forced to carry to term. This incredible act of moral legislation will increase the burden on taxpayers to fund foster care, build new schools, and provide health care. As a bonus, we will see an increase in crime. Crime associated with an increase in homelessness and poverty but also an increase in rape allegations because that is the only option left on the table to ensure women aren’t reduced to incubators.

Letter: The Supreme Court is on the attack. We must strike back with our votes.Letter: The Supreme Court is on the attack. We must strike back with our votes. The Republican Party has a new weapon in its war on women — the U.S. Supreme Court. The unprecedented “leak” that the Court has voted to overturn Roe vs. Wade proves it is now a political branch, leaving no reason for the public to respect its decisions. Leaking the verdict will not make the news more palatable. Attacking women is not palatable.
