The 'self-proclaimed experts' should clam up, this writer says.

In terms of the Surrey police transition, it’s unfortunate how this entire dispute has yet to be resolved.

Deputy commissioner Dwayne McDonald certainly hit the nail on the head when he referred to supporters of both the RCMP and SPS as “armchair quarterbacks,” “pundits” and “self-proclaimed experts.” What’s disheartening is that these people who constantly slander each other on social media have absolutely nothing to do with law enforcement. Their relentless personal attacks directed towards each other are only exacerbating the problem instead of helping reach a solution.

By all means, everyone has a right to their own opinions, but personal attacks and name-calling are completely inappropriate and totally unnecessary.I feel very sorry for members of both the Surrey RCMP and Surrey Police Service who are caught up in the midst of this tumultuous storm. As far as I’m concerned, it’s time to simply step back and let both police agencies work together with the municipal and provincial governments so that this issue can finally be resolved, once and for all.

Depending on which way the ship sails, the only thing that matters is having a police force in general to serve and protect all of us if we need to call 911.
