. The legislation also includes a provision that would require those convicted to repay law enforcement agencies for the resources used to respond to the false report.. Carlee Russell, 25, called 911 reporting a toddler was on the side of the interstate along I-459 in Hoover. When police responded, Russell nor the toddler could be found, prompting a significant two-day long search that garnered national attention.

Senator Linda Coleman-Madison District 20, noted there are far more serious crimes that don’t have the same sentencing implications.
