The trailblazing journalist's stamp will be part of the U.S. Postal Service's Black Heritage series.
The late journalist Gwen Ifill will be memorialized with a Forever stamp next year, the U.S. Postal Service announced on Tuesday.
“Among the first African Americans to hold prominent positions in both broadcast and print journalism, Ifill was a trailblazer in the profession,” the Postal Service said in a release. Before moving to PBS in 1999, Ifill worked at The Washington Post, The New York Times and NBC News. She was often one of the few Black women, if not the only one, in a newsroom.
