Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he discussed trade, consular and human rights issues in a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit, the first meeting between leaders of the two countries since 2016

Meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia, Albanese said they had discussed trade, consular and human rights issues and had acknowledged their "highly complementary" economies.

China is Australia’s biggest trading partner, accounting for up to a third of its roughly A$475 billion of annual exports. "I put forward Australia’s position when it comes to the blockages in our trading relationship," Albanese said.
