Picket lines on major construction sites around the Puget Sound region have been in effect since November 2021.
Thousand of construction workers have been laid off as a result, and more will likely follow as negotiations with concrete suppliers remain at a standstill.
Fleming also noted that “thousands” of construction workers have been laid off over the course of the strike “with more to come.” Striking members with Teamsters 174 lost health coverage Feb. 1.
