‘We need to acknowledge that many of our faculty and staff are dealing with trauma and loss,’ says memo
With Laurentian University exiting restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act last year, the university is planning upcoming healing sessions for those impacted by the events of the past couple of years.
Sudbury.com, a sister site of SooToday, reached out to Laurentian University to ask more about these healing sessions but was not granted an interview. “To assist, we invite faculty and staff to participate in an in-person healing-centered engagement session followed by a virtual workshop focusing on tools and resources to support healing and wellness.
“The in-person session will provide a safe space to explore feelings of trauma and loss and talk about the impact on individuals’ well-being. Facilitated discussions in both large and small groups will delve into the challenges and what additional supports and resources through the health benefit plans might be best suited to their needs.”
