St. Vincent-St. Mary and Chagrin Falls had the two best finishes among area teams at this weekend's state golf tournaments.
Laurel’s Siena Maschke claimed the girls Division II crown by seven strokes with a 143 over two days at the Ohio State Grey Course. Her 70, par for the course, on Day 1 of the tournament was the best 18-hole round of the entire tournament, and only one golfer shot better than her 73 on Day 2.
His 72 on Day 1, one over par for the course, was tied with four other golfers for the second best 18-hole round of the tournament. It put him in second place after the first day, but his 74 on Day 2 sealed Pilar’s state title.
