Emilia Clarke leaves Khaleesi behind in the first trailer for LastChristmas
playing a sardonic Christmas shop worker named Kate; Golding plays Tom, who first meets Kate on the street and quickly proves to be borderline saintly. In fairness, plenty of men in the Christmas movie genre fit that description—at least, those in made-for-TV holiday fare.
But there’s also a chance that something stranger is afoot. Toward the end of the trailer, a harried Kate asks Tom why he keeps “disappearing” whenever she tries to find him, only to later bump into her accidentally. “It wasn’t accidental,” he insists.
