Lanterns lit in memory of tragic Scots girl, 5, seen from plane by family flying home
Lanterns lit in memory of a five-year-old girl who collapsed and died after suffering from a sickness bug were seen from a plane window by her heartbroken relatives.
Bella's great-aunt and great-uncle, who were flying home from Tenerife, saw the lanterns in the sky as their plane flew over Lanarkshire. Her uncle Kenny had contacted Jet2 to find out what flight path the plane would take, and told the airline of the family's grief. "When they began to descend, it came over the intercom system on the plane that if they looked out of the window they would see lots of tiny lights through the clouds. He said the plane fell silent when they were told what they were.
The 38-year-old said: "We still don't know why this happened and it's killing us inside. We are awaiting results of further tests which we really hope will give us much-needed answers as to what happened to our girl."
