The City of Langford will be lowering its flags to half-mast in honour of Assistant Fire Chief Lance Caven.

The City of Langford will be lowering its flags to half-mast in honour of Assistant Fire Chief Lance Caven, who passed away after a battle with cancer. Caven served in Langford for 30 years, first joining the service in 1991. He stepped into a career position in 2002 and has served as assistant chief since 2017.
“He dedicated his life to preventing fires, and saving lives and will always be remembered for his love and passion for firefighting and fire prevention,” the city said in a news release.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Caven’s family and the Langford Fire Department have asked for privacy and space to grieve during this difficult time.
