Having approached from the wooded west, no signs had advised us to keep out. Nobody was there to threaten us with punishment for trespassing. Perhaps Misty Mountain, which we’d named after a Led Zeppelin song, was comprised of toxic waste, but we had no way of knowing. An old wagon wheel is slowly becoming part of the landscape along the banks of Thorn Creek in South Holland at Paarlberg Park, one of the Southland's Hidden Gems, according to the new Visitors Guide published by the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
