Mar Vista falls to Monrovia in five sets in Division IV
Francis Parker, the San Diego Section Division II boys volleyball champion, swept to a 3-0 win over Capistrano Valley Christian on Saturday to capture the Southern California Regional Division III title.
Seeded No. 2, the Lancers played three highly competitive sets with No. 1 Capistrano Valley Christian, winning 26-24, 25-20, 25-20 to capture their second Southern California crown, the last coming in 2012, beating Torrance Bishop Montgomery.Francis Parker beat Carson 3-0 and San Diego Section rival Madison 3-1 en route to the 2022 SoCal championship.Advertisement
Fifth-seeded Mar Vista ran out of gas in the fifth set and lost to Monrovia 3-2 in the SoCal Division IV title match.
