Lancashire has 10 areas where Covid 19 cases are on the rise. This has risen from eight areas last week.
According to the latest figures from the UK Health Security Agency, there are 10 neighbourhoods in Lancashire that recorded a case rate above 200 per 100,000 people. In the seven-day period ending October 15, the area with the highest rate in the country was Kirkham & Wesham at 269.5. This was followed by Broughton & Wychnor with 265.2 and then Poulton North & Carleton East with 258.5. This follows a trend of cases rising across the country.Total Covid-19 infections in the UK have climbed above two million for the first time since July, though there are signs the rate of increase may be slowing, figures show.
Sarah Crofts, ONS deputy director for the Covid-19 infection survey, cautioned it was “too early” to say whether the rise in infections was starting to slow, adding the figures show “a mixed picture across regions and age groups”.
