An unexpected recruitment drive to find new police dogs has been largely rebuffed, with many members of the public telling officers to get their own.
Lancashire Police asked the public if they were willing to give up their energetic pets for a new career.users responded comically to the social media post, which read:"POLICE DOG RECRUITMENT" and asked the owners of working breeds to get in touch. It said:"Do you have a working breed dog like a Labrador, Springer or Cocker Spaniel that is under three years old? Are they full of energy & enjoy ball play and searching?"
