San Diego State’s basketball team finished 15-3 and won the Mountain West regular-season title by a full two games.
Fifth-place San Jose State got player of the year and coach of the year after finishing five spots higher than they were picked in the preseason media poll. The Spartans won 19 games, the most since 1980-81, and were 10-8 over the 18-game conference schedule. As player of the year, Moore was the leading vote-getter for first team all-conference. He was joined by, in order, Boise State’s Tyson Degenhart, Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens, SDSU’s Bradley and New Mexico’s Jaelen House.
