A year after launching its innovative Neighborhood Paramedic Program, Lakewood recently appointed firefighter/paramedic Ryan Birth to the position.
“Birth is a Lakewood High School graduate and long-term member of the department. He’s going to do a great job in his new role.”
“Through normal screening and vetting for how we assign people to detail position, Ryan was selected,” he said. “He’s hit the ground running. He’s a very charismatic person with an outgoing personality born and raised in Lakewood. He has a lot of great ideas The Neighborhood Paramedic Program, with support from the Healthy Lakewood Foundation, was created to incorporate a program into the fire department focused on proactive, preventative care and interventions.
