People have been 'blown away' by Martin's singing
Nottingham YouTube celebrity LadBaby Mark Hoyle has embarked on his mission to secure a fifth consecutive Christmas number one. Teaming up with MoneySavingExpert's Martin Lewis to rework the Band Aid song Do They Know It's Christmas?, they are the first act to be allowed to rework the historic 1984 Band Aid song, after receiving permission from Bob Geldof, Midge Ure and the Band Aid Trust.
Only The Beatles and pop group Spice Girls have come anywhere near close to securing four Christmas number ones on the bounce like the Nottingham couple. The Fab Four had I Want To Hold Your Hand, I Feel Fine and Day Tripper all reach the top of the charts over Christmas in 1963, 1964 and 1965 respectively.LadBaby's effort this year is titled Food Aid, with half of the money raised going to food bank charity the Trussell Trust and the other half to the Band Aid Trust.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast, Hoyle praised Lewis for his vocal delivery on the line sung by U2 frontman Bono in the original. He said: "We wanted to get someone involved that knows about the struggles that are facing a lot of families at the minute. He [Lewis] more than most helps everyone."
