The Anchorage Daily News in partnership with ProPublica published a story on April 21, reported by special projects editor and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Kyle Hopkins.

Hopkins obtained secretly recorded audio of Anchorage Deputy Director of Library Services, Judy Eledge, calling Alaska Native people "woke" and "racists," among other discriminatory remarks directed at LGBTQ+ people. Alaska's News Source spoke to Hopkins about the recorded conversation and some of the complaints that have been filed against Eledge.
