Residents at Haydale Care Home have opened a food bank service to help those who are struggling

Kind-hearted residents at Haydale Care Home have opened a food bank service to help those who are struggling in the Tollcross area.The food bank offers a variety of tinned foods, juices, long-life milk, biscuits and snacks as well as household essentials including nappies and winter jackets.

"The community were really good to us with dropping off donations and entertaining residents from the car park so they could see outside their windows.The community can also donate to the food bank by dropping donations off at drop off points at the Co-Op food store and funeral care, on Tollcross Road.

"They get excited when the donations come in and excited about going into the food bank to sort it all out. They see it as a chance for them to do something for the community.
