The Jordan girls golf team finished second in District 19-5A, qualifying for the regional tournament for the first time. Cande Carlevaro, Abbi Nelson, Maria Rodriguez, Erin Ahmadfadzir and Alejandra Garcia recorded a two-round 731.The Seven Lakes girls golf team repeated as District 19-6A champions by a large margin March 29-30 at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. Led by individual champion Maelynn Kim, the Spartans finished 35 strokes ahead of runner-up and fellow Region III-6A qualifier Taylor.
Taylor used a stellar one-day improvement to overtake Cinco Ranch by one stroke for the final regional berth. All five golfers cut at least six strokes from their opening round. Luitwieler will represent Cinco Ranch at the regional tournament, joined as a 19-6A individual medalist by Tompkins’ Annika Choi, who took fourth with rounds of 82 and 80 for a 162.
