An ally of Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) is gearing up for a tour of the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada to gin up support for the potential 2024 aspirant.
Ken Cuccinelli, the former attorney general of Virginia, who formed the Never Back Down political action committee, is embarking a the tour in hopes of making the case to voters about"why America needs Governor Ron DeSantis to run and WIN in 2024.
The tour will commence in Iowa on Wednesday, followed by a trip to New Hampshire later this week, then South Carolina and Nevada next week. On Monday, news broke that DeSantis is planning to travel to New Hampshire on April 14 to promote his new book and possibly build inroads with locals as he eyes a presidential run.
Last week, DeSantis traveled to Iowa, where he met with Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds and touted his record in Florida as a model for the nation. He is also expected to travel to Nevada and possibly South Carolina over the coming weeks. Cuccinelli launched the Never Back Down PAC last week, insisting that he has observed the energy for DeSantis and wants to help boost him to the White House. Other pro-DeSantis PACs have been formed over time, such as Ready for Ron, but the governor's office has stressed that DeSantis is not connected to them.DeSantis is polling second in a hypothetical 2024 GOP primary behind former President Donald Trump, according to the latest RealClearPolitics polling aggregate.
Never Back Down PAC's tour is set to visit roughly 15 cities, including Des Moines, Iowa, and Manchester, New Hampshire.
