This handy device can connect with loved ones no matter where they are. Instead of using a computer, the ONSCREEN Spark connects to almost any TV using a regular HDMI connection.
... [+] Many of us have just been celebrating Christmas and the New Year. It’s a time to be with our loved ones but the pandemic has made traveling more difficult and sometimes we need to be careful in deciding whether we visit older family members who may have underlying health conditions. So how do can we stay in touch with our loved ones who may not be relaxed in using Zoom or Skype on a computer.
To answer this conundrum, start-up ONSCREEN has created an entire infrastructure that can connect friends and family using their TV screen. There’s even a special version designed for older family members. SilverSCREEN is a set of senior-focused features that have been specially designed to simplify the experience of making and receiving video calls by using a regular TV instead of a computer or tablet.
The idea behind the system was based on feedback from ONSCREEN customers who were already using the ONSCREEN Spark to check in on their elderly family members. ONSCREEN Spark is a neat little device and an HD camera that plugs into the HDMI port of a regular TV and uses WiFi or Ethernet to make and receive video calls. ... [+]
Ethernet. The kit includes an HD camera with dual noise-canceling microphones. The whole system is controlled via an Android or iOS app.“The new SilverSCREEN features make communicating with loved ones easier and more fulfilling,” says Andrew Blue, CEO at ONSCREEN. The new SilverSCREEN features include a list of close contacts that can make up a list of Favorite callers. This enables fast and easy calling at the tap of a button instead of having to swipe through a list of contacts.
