The release of revenge porn photos is illegal in the majority of the U.S. including Hill's hometown of California, and Washington, D.C.
The 32-year-old announced her resignation"with a broken heart," and strongly condemned the publication of personal naked photos without her consent. The release of these types of photos have been"It is with a broken heart that today I announce my resignation from Congress," Hill said in a letter that was."This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I believe it is the best thing for my constituents, my community, and our country.
"Having private photos of personal moments weaponized against me has been an appalling invasion of privacy. It's also illegal, and we are currently pursuing all of our available legal options." The photos allegedly came from Hill's soon-to-be ex-husband, Kenny Haslop, and have since been published in two publications.
