A little birdie told us that KaceyMusgraves's 'Slow Burn' candle is back in stock 👀
named for and inspired by her song "Slow Burn." And when we say "inspired by," what we really mean to say is that it's an exact translation of Musgraves's lyrics to candle format.
"In my mind, it's in the summer, I'm on my porch in Nashville. I was having a drink, and I was thinking about strangers on the other side of the globe, waking up and doing their thing as the sun had just gone down," Musgraves tells. "I was going into my night in Nashville and trying to find a moment to breathe in all the craziness.
In her mind, "Slow Burn" is the audio equivalent of a sunset and a moment where you get to turn your brain off, if only briefly. "I really love in nature [when] a gradient of colors kind of melts at one point," Musgraves says. "That was a big inspiration for the packaging." Encased in frosted pink glass that fades into burgundy at the bottom, the Slow Burn candle increasingly mimics that the longer it burns.
that she says represents her song just as much as the collaboration does. Her adoration of graduating colors and sunsets, it appears, comes straight from her desire for balance.and kitsch and camp and hairspray and over-the-top everything," Musgraves says. "But there's also a side of me that that loves sleek and minimal and refined and understated and mysterious and modern, so I'm always walking a fine line between the two.
Don't expect Musgraves to stay concrete in her beauty habits, though. Just like the color of the sky as the sun goes down, she's sure to see change. "I hope that I'm always able to be flexible with changing ideas of beauty," she says. "There's one thing to be said for staying in your comfort zone, but I hope that I'm always confident enough to bend and flow, you know? 'Cause I think that's what keeps you young.
